About Me

Hi, I am Corinna Fales, the owner of BOONE STREET BOOKS. I began my professional writing/editing career in 1995 with a field research report for the Library of Congress (portions published in 1997). Since then, I have been fortunate to work on a wide variety of projects with local, national, and international clients and have held senior editorial positions at universities and government agencies.

My lifelong association with diversity called me to author two very different narrative nonfiction books related to inclusion. I have also published online and in-print articles on other topics, from Alzheimer’s to Asperger Syndrome to New Year resolutions and dating tips. Two years after moving from New York to North Carolina, I took a course and received a certificate in book publishing—then launched Boone Street Books as a labor of love and creative freedom in 2021.

I especially love books that help us learn about each other. That includes a broad swath of genres from memoir to meaningful exploration of almost any topic. We will tell you honestly if we do not have the experience, knowledge, or other wherewithal to serve a project well. (Cookbooks, romance novels, and fine photography fall into that category.)

I do the copyediting, developmental/substantive editing, and line editing needed to make your manuscript ship-shape, and fix any typos or other errors I notice. I also do medical and STEM editing and offer coaching, ghostwriting, and book doctoring if requested. As noted above, BOONE STREET then works with excellent freelance proofreaders and designers.
